How to use Conditional Formatting in Outlook 2016?

Conditional Formatting - Outlook 2016

When you receive an email it would be great if the Emails received in your inbox were coloured by sender. Or by Subject, or by some other means. This Outlook Tutorial video shows you how.

If you're a little too busy to see the video then try the following:

  1. From the Ribbon click on the View Tab.
  2. Click on View Settings.
  3. Now click on Conditional Formatting.
  4. Click Add to add a new rule.
  5. Type in a name for the rule.
  6. Click Font then change the font colour to pink.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Click Condition.
  9. Click From and find the name of the person.
  10. Click OK to exit the condition box.
  11. Click OK exit the conditional formatting box.
  12. Finally click OK to exit the view settings box.

Note: Even though this above procedure is using the Email inbox as an example. The conditional formatting feature may be used with calendars as well. Using conditional formatting with calendar will allow you to change the colour of a meeting or appointment on your calendar depending on who set the meeting up, or what the meeting is about.
