Index Match Example - Returning the best selling product

Using Index Match with Max to return best seller

Have you heard of the Index Match function? Now doubt one of the Excel guru's at work has told you how they never use VLookup and will go with Index Match every time. When they continue to extol the virtures of Index Match you would be forgiven for getting a little lost.

This video incorporates the MAX function along with the INDEX MATCH function to return the best selling ice cream flavour. Using INDEX MATCH in conjunction with MAX you can look up the ice cream flavours name ON THE LEFT. That's Right! You can use this function to look from Right to Left. So you're no longer restricted to having the Lookup column being the Left most column. Fantastic!
