Visio 2016 Org Chart from Excel

You may have seen our previous tutorial on creating a Visio org chart using Excel. However if you are using Excel 2016 a problem occurs when you include an employee ID number to structure the org chart.

Now I'm not saying that you shouldn't use the ID number. In fact using the ID number is vital to ensure the dependability of your chart. Otherwise, should you have 2 people with the same name, you're snookered. This tutorial will show you how you can still use this ID number, so you can create an organisation chart based on the employee number, and not on their name in Visio 2016. The guide will then show you how to remove the ID number from the Org chart shape.

You can use the organisation chart wizard exercise file to work along with this exercise.
