Working with Layers in Visio

Most people feel that working with layers in Visio is just the remit of the AutoCad designers. But did you know that showing and hiding various layers can be useful whatever type of drawing you create? However, a client the other day asked if it where possible to add comments and other information pertaining to particular shapes that you want to hide from most other users.
