Calculate Cumulative Totals for Financial Periods

Power BI cumulative totals is the way to go for creating figures to be used on a line chart that accumulate over time. Especially when it comes to dates that are outside of the ordinary Gregorian calendar. For example it may be that your companies financial year starts on the first Sunday in June and runs for 12 - 13 periods. Each period being four seven day weeks.

This Power BI cumulative totals tutorial will show you how to write a DAX formula in Power BI for cumulative totals so that you can write cumulative totals for each of those periods. A subsequent tutorial will show you how to create cumulative totals for the year on a chart.
